Classic Stars Birthday Card

Today was my Niece Jeans Birthday.  I wanted to make her a card as she loves stars and the colour purple, so I decided to use the Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel, I wasn't quite sure what to do so googled Star cards I saw one Narelle Hodges had on her blog and it was perfect for what I wanted to do so I cased it. Thank you Narelle. We had a lovely roast pork for dinner and my older daughter Bex made a Chocolate cake for Jean, this is the first time she has made a cake probably since she was at school  (I'm usually the one to make the cakes)  and it was sooo good. We lit the candles etc and of course the two children had to have a turn at blowing out the candles as well.

How to make Rhinestone Brads sit flat

Here is a simple little trick.
Do your Rhinestone Brads sit flat or do they look like this one when you have used them to embellish a project.
BEFORE...
This is how it will look
AFTER...
You will need a pair of flat nose pliers.

1.  When you look at the Rhinestone Brad there is a triangle under the base of the brad,
this stops the brad  from sitting flat.

2.  Take the Rhinestone Brad and place it in your flat nose pliers as shown above
and squeeze the feet as close together as you can.

3.  This is what the brad will look like when you have finished.

Ghosting on vellum

This card is done with a technique called Ghosting on Vellum. you brayer ink  all over a piece of Vellum and while the ink is wet stamp a “dry” bold image onto the wet Vellum and the stamp picks up the ink and creates this lovely soft reversed image. Let this dry then glue a piece of whisper white card to the back of the vellum  I totally cased this card from Sylvie Drader.
Stamps:  Inspired by Nature, Sincere Salutations
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Really Rust
Cardstock:  Close to Cocoa, Really Rust, Whisper White, Vellum
Other:  Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon
