Eleanor in Sahara

This is Another of the card's we made in class. Another favourite set of mine Everything Eleanor (p112),   but then I love the whole Stampin' Up! 2012-2013 catalogue the For You is from Layered Labels (p103) .   I have used Sahara Sand and Bravo Burgundy which go fabulous together. I fussy cut the larger label and the flowers which is are Everything Eleanor, then used the Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut out the smaller label from Layered Labels, I also stamped the label in Sahara Sand then punched out the For You with the Large Oval punch.

Stamp sets: En Francais, Everything Eleanor, Layered Labels
Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Sahara Sand
Other: Apothecary Framelits, Large Oval Punch, Basic Rhinestones,

A Straw, Ink and Bubbles

This is another technique using a Straw and Ink but with Bubble Blowing Mixture added, pour some Bubble mixture into a small container then add a few drops from your classic reinker refill, mix this together then place your straw into the mix and blow some bubbles until they rise above the top of the container pick up your piece of Glossy card and gentle place it over the bubbles so they leave an impression on the card stock. let the bubbles pop or pop them with a tissue then repeat the process until you are happy with the effect on your piece Glossy card. leave this to dry and then use Staz on ink to stamp your image. Coloured card stock can also be used for this effect using the bubble mix with shimmer paint added.

Straw Blowing Background Technique

Monday evening was Technique class and what fun we had, mind you we did run out of breathe though, (no we didn't go for a run). this is such a fun Technique but it will leave you breathless and can get a little messy. You add a few drops of ink onto some Glossy card stock and then blow it around a piece of card using a straw while turning the card at the same time. I found this technique on France Martins blog which you can find lower down on her page here.

Close up of Sentiment label

I also did this technique on a scrap of Glossy card and punched it out using the Oval scallop punch.
My Upline Karen Rogers made this label on a swap card, I really liked it so  cased it for this card.

Ink: Certainly Celery, Black Staz On
Ink refills:  Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette
Other: BasicPearls, Scor Board,  Apothecary Accent Framelits,

I cased this card from one Sandi McIver made, I have changed it up so it will fit into a C6 envelope, plus adding another flower and a button instead of a bow. I love how the colours Crumb cake and Pool Party compliment each other.

Daring Adventure Chalkboard Technique

I have seen a lot of cards made lately using a technique called Chalkboard so I decided I had to have a go. this is basically a quick and easy card, also very effective. The idea is to make the card look like a teachers Blackboard. All you need is black or dark coloured cardstock you then use White Craft ink to stamp your image, cover the image with White Embossing powder then heat set the powder. Next rub a Dauber or even a dry baby wipe into your White Craft ink then gently rub this over or around your stamped images which gives the effect of a Blackboard which has had writing rubbed out. You can also see in the top left corner where a bit of Embossing powder has rubbed off giving an even better effect.

Stamp set: Daring Adventure, The Open Sea, Word Play
Ink: White Craft Ink
Cardstock:Basic Black, Naturals White, Crumb Cake
Other:White Embossing powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool,
Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Neutrals Button, Linen Thread,
Tombow Adhesive.
