Halloween Has Come Early

Halloween came early to my class this week, even though we don't celebrate Halloween in as a big away as America does more and more people are getting into the Halloween spirit every year. I couldn't wait to use two of my favourite Halloween Stamp sets. My ladies really enjoyed making the two cards. This one uses Wicked Cool I just love the Witches shoes in this set. I have loved the set since I saw it in the American Cataloque last year and has been on my wishlist for ages. I have roughened then sponged the edges of the Lucky Limeade, Whisper White and Basic Black, The spooky is a little off centre as well just to make it a little rough. Although you can't see it in the picture I put the Limeade and Black card stock through the Spider Web Embossing folder at the same time so that they would match up when matted together onto the card base. Come back in a couple of days to see the second card we made using the Googly Ghouls stamp set.

Stamp Set: Wicked Cool
Ink: Black Staz on
Card Stock: Basic Black, Lucky Limeade, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Other:  big Shot, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval punch,
Neutral Brads, Stampin Sponge.

Baby Wipe Technique #2

This is another card using the baby wipe technique but this time you swipe the baby wipe across a piece of glossy cardstock to form a background.
Fold your baby wipe in half, then in half again, add of your reinker to the fold line.
If you want a multicoloured background add more colours
For smaller stripes, add a small dot of reinker. For wider stripes, add longer stripes of reinker.
Line the inked fold up with the edge of the glossy cardstock.
Wipe the inked baby wipe over the glossy cardstock to create a striped background.
Add more color, linking up the inked wipe with the existing stripes to intensify and even out the colors. Continue to add color as needed. You can trim the edge you started at if it looks a bit patchy.
Stamp your image with Staz on ink directly onto the background.

Stamp Set: Lovely as a Tree
Cardstock: Basic black, Daffodil Delight, Glossy Cardstock
Reinkers: Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie,
Ink: Staz On
Other: Tombow Multi Adhesive.

Stampin' Up! Auckland Heartfelt Event

On Saturday I spent the day at the Stampin' Up! Auckland Heartfelt event, what a fabulous day we all received a stamp set as part of our registration fee, plus we all received another stamp for free, needless to say there were some fantastic demonstrations, make n takes and of course the product playground area where we were able to have a play and try out some of the fabulous new products from the 2012/2013 Catalogue and Holiday Mini.  I think most demonstrators and visitors that went came away with an even longer wishlist.
Here are a couple of pictures from the day
This is a Christmas wreath made by and shown to us by Sophie  during the demonstrations, Sophie who works for Stampin' Up! the piece hanging down in the centre uses one of the new Stampin Sound card all the flowers are cut with Stampin Up's Big Shot Dies.

Here  another wreath but a smaller version

the next picture is one of the cards in a set we made with our  make n take supplies using the new Clockworks stamp set.

I will definitely be going again next year

Baby Wipe technique

In class this week we made cards using the Baby wipe technique, if you haven't done this technique give it a try it is so easy.
Here's how
Fold one or two baby wipes in half then in half again.
Starting with the darkest colour reinker place a few drops onto the baby wipe, then add a few drops of the second darkest colour and lastly add a few drops of the lightest colour ( you can use as many or as few colours as you like).
You have now created a stamp pad, Ink up your image and stamp onto cardstock.
I turned the stamp slightly each time just so the flowers inked up a little differently. I also wiped the stamp before inking it up each time.
This card was cased from Monica Hornof, she has a tutorial on her blog.
Over the next couple of days I will show you another card using the baby wipe technique but in a different way.

Stamp sets: Fabulous Florets, Curly Cute
Ink Refills: Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit
Ink: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green
Cardstock: Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White
Other: Stampin Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Tombow Adhesive.
