Blooming with Kindness Forever and Always

This is a card I made for Jacque Williams (nee Pederson) wedding card I would love to have been there but alas I didn't get to the wedding as I wasn't well .  I had purchased the Blooming With Kindness stamp set and new it was the perfect set to use. I saw a card using Crumb Cake and Early Espresso in this style (Fun Stampin with Margaret) so I changed the colours and tied the bow differently. I was very pleased with how it turned out.

Ink: Perfectly Plum
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla
Other: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Delicate Designs Folders,

The Fabulous New Stampin' Up! Trimmer

The new Stampin' Up! Trimmer has  arrived I have had mine to use for a couple of weeks now and it is fabulous.
·         Features of the All-New Stampin’ Trimmer: : item 129722; $59.95
·         An extra-wide 15.9 cm cutting base and an extended 39 cm ruler
·         The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 4 mm increments, allowing for small measurements.
·         The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
·         The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
·         When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface. .
·         The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin’ Trimmer securely in place on your work area.
·         A full 30.5 cm cutting and scoring track
·         The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don’t have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you’re not using them.
·         The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
·         The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
·         The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you’re cutting.
·         The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.
·         Storage compartment under base
·         The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades and even business cards.
·         Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organised, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you’ve stored.

Contact me if you would like to purchase our new Trimmer as I will be putting in my last order for the
year on Thursday 8th December to ensure your order arrives on time.

Flowers Just For You

I found the inspiration for this card from one made by Michelle Clark, I have used the same colours but haven't added the Bakers Twine or Bitty Banner as I wanted to keep it fairly simple so that I could add a Sentiment and or Butterfly later which means I can use the card for any occasion. It is very faint in this photo but I have used an Aqua painter to add Pool Party ink to represent water in the jar.
It just goes to show that you don't have to use the Perfectly preserved stamp set just for a preserving card or as a label on a jar.

Stamp set: Perfectly Preserved
Ink: Gumball Green, Pale Plum, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Versamark
Cardstock: Naturals White, Wisteria Wonder
Other: White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Tombow Adhesive, Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat

Flying High

This is a card I have been wanting to make for a while, I love the Up Up and Away stamp set, For the clouds on this card I used the Scallop Circle and Cupcake Builder Punches to sponge around.
A Hot Air balloon ride has been on my husbands to do list for quite a while but it hasn't happened yet. I think it would be a great experience but just having that basket floor between me and the distance back to the ground is a bit off putting.

Stamp set: Up Up and Away, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse
Cardstock:  Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Other: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch,  2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Cupcake Builder Punch

Christmas Blessing #2

Here's another card made using the Christmas Blessing Stamp set, if your looking for a quick and easy card to make for Christmas this is it. There are five layers on the front of this card which can be left off to make it an even quicker card, there's only the one small image (which is coloured) plus a sentiment and a bow. By using The Naturals White as a Base you don't need to add a piece inside for stamping your greeting on.

Stamp set: Christmas Blessings
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, Staz On,
Cardstock: Naturals White, Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade
Other: Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, Blender Pen, 1/2" Circle Punch,
Glue Dots, Tombow Multi adhesive

Christmas Blessings

My ladies made this card in class on Wednesday evening. It is one of Michelle Zindorf's tutorials.
Michelle does some amazing work and always shares her tutorials.
I loved the card so decided to have a go at it needless to say it was a hit with my Ladies. I did change a couple of things instead of using Craft White ink and Clear Embossing powder I used Versamark ink and White Embossing powder. By using the lattice Embossing folder as Michelle did it makes it look like Cross Stitch This would work with any outline flower image. If you would like to make one of these cards let me know and I will have another class for you and some friends or you can order the products used for this card through me.

Stamp Set: Christmas Blessings
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink, River Roc,
Ink: Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink, Rasberry Ripple, Versamark
Markers: Pretty in Pink, Rasberry Ripple, So saffron, More Mustard, River Rock
Accessories: Big Shot, lattice Embossing folder, White Embossing powder, Antique Brads, Modern label Punch,  blender penPaper Piercer, Piercing Mat, Stampin Sponges

Vellum Snowflakes

I saw this card by Andi Polter  and decided it would be a quick card to make i changed it up by using a few more Rhinestone Jewels and completely sponged the back of the vellum.
To make this card all you have to do is put a piece of vellum in the Snow Flurry Embossing folder and run it  through the Big Shot,  stamp your sentiment (on this card I have heat embossed the sentiment), sponge the back of the vellum with the same colour ink as your card base,  adhere this to the card base by adding a few glue dots where they won't show, then add a few Rhinestone brads and voila you have a finished card.

Stamp set: Many Merry Messages
Ink: Bashful Blue, Versamark
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Vellum,
Other: Bigshot, Snow Flurry Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestone Jewels,
White Embossing Powder, Glue Dots, Stamping Sponge

Halloween Has Come Early

Halloween came early to my class this week, even though we don't celebrate Halloween in as a big away as America does more and more people are getting into the Halloween spirit every year. I couldn't wait to use two of my favourite Halloween Stamp sets. My ladies really enjoyed making the two cards. This one uses Wicked Cool I just love the Witches shoes in this set. I have loved the set since I saw it in the American Cataloque last year and has been on my wishlist for ages. I have roughened then sponged the edges of the Lucky Limeade, Whisper White and Basic Black, The spooky is a little off centre as well just to make it a little rough. Although you can't see it in the picture I put the Limeade and Black card stock through the Spider Web Embossing folder at the same time so that they would match up when matted together onto the card base. Come back in a couple of days to see the second card we made using the Googly Ghouls stamp set.

Stamp Set: Wicked Cool
Ink: Black Staz on
Card Stock: Basic Black, Lucky Limeade, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Other:  big Shot, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval punch,
Neutral Brads, Stampin Sponge.

Baby Wipe Technique #2

This is another card using the baby wipe technique but this time you swipe the baby wipe across a piece of glossy cardstock to form a background.
Fold your baby wipe in half, then in half again, add of your reinker to the fold line.
If you want a multicoloured background add more colours
For smaller stripes, add a small dot of reinker. For wider stripes, add longer stripes of reinker.
Line the inked fold up with the edge of the glossy cardstock.
Wipe the inked baby wipe over the glossy cardstock to create a striped background.
Add more color, linking up the inked wipe with the existing stripes to intensify and even out the colors. Continue to add color as needed. You can trim the edge you started at if it looks a bit patchy.
Stamp your image with Staz on ink directly onto the background.

Stamp Set: Lovely as a Tree
Cardstock: Basic black, Daffodil Delight, Glossy Cardstock
Reinkers: Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie,
Ink: Staz On
Other: Tombow Multi Adhesive.

Stampin' Up! Auckland Heartfelt Event

On Saturday I spent the day at the Stampin' Up! Auckland Heartfelt event, what a fabulous day we all received a stamp set as part of our registration fee, plus we all received another stamp for free, needless to say there were some fantastic demonstrations, make n takes and of course the product playground area where we were able to have a play and try out some of the fabulous new products from the 2012/2013 Catalogue and Holiday Mini.  I think most demonstrators and visitors that went came away with an even longer wishlist.
Here are a couple of pictures from the day
This is a Christmas wreath made by and shown to us by Sophie  during the demonstrations, Sophie who works for Stampin' Up! the piece hanging down in the centre uses one of the new Stampin Sound card all the flowers are cut with Stampin Up's Big Shot Dies.

Here  another wreath but a smaller version

the next picture is one of the cards in a set we made with our  make n take supplies using the new Clockworks stamp set.

I will definitely be going again next year

Baby Wipe technique

In class this week we made cards using the Baby wipe technique, if you haven't done this technique give it a try it is so easy.
Here's how
Fold one or two baby wipes in half then in half again.
Starting with the darkest colour reinker place a few drops onto the baby wipe, then add a few drops of the second darkest colour and lastly add a few drops of the lightest colour ( you can use as many or as few colours as you like).
You have now created a stamp pad, Ink up your image and stamp onto cardstock.
I turned the stamp slightly each time just so the flowers inked up a little differently. I also wiped the stamp before inking it up each time.
This card was cased from Monica Hornof, she has a tutorial on her blog.
Over the next couple of days I will show you another card using the baby wipe technique but in a different way.

Stamp sets: Fabulous Florets, Curly Cute
Ink Refills: Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit
Ink: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green
Cardstock: Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White
Other: Stampin Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Tombow Adhesive.

I haven't used this set before and was pleased how the card turned out, I just had to add a little bit of bling as well. When I gave Bex her card she said a "Mad Hatters card".
